Yellow Cable ECOOC11 - Multicore “octopus” 8 mono Jack (TS) to 8 XLR female, 5 m

The Yellow Cable ECOOC11 is an 8 -way multi-pair cable designed to organize the wiring between equipment with 6.35 mm mono (TS) jack outputs and systems that work with female XLR connectors . With a total length of 5 meters , PVC jacket and black finish , it offers a practical solution for patching in studio, live and AV installations when multiple lines are required in a single bundle. The fan-shaped or " octopus " format speeds up assembly and collection, reducing tangles and failure points compared to multiple loose runs.

This model connects 8 × male mono jack (TS) to 8 × 3-pin female XLR with typical unbalanced link wiring from the jack side (tip to pin 2; ground to pins 1 and 3), allowing unbalanced outputs to be linked to XLR inputs when a connector size adjustment is required. Due to the unbalanced TS nature of the model, it is recommended that phantom power be disabled on any preamps or mixers to which it is connected.

Main features

  • 8 channels in a single bundle to carry multiple signals at once.
  • Termination : 8 × 6.35 mm mono (TS) jack male to 8 × 3-pin XLR female .
  • Length : 5m, suitable for stages, nearby racks and control rooms.
  • Black PVC outer cover for continuous use and easy maintenance.
  • “Octopus” format without stage box: two connector combs for quick patching.
  • Compatibility with 6.35 mm TS and XLR3 jack standards.

Product benefits

  • Cleaner and tidier assemblies by grouping eight lines into a single multi-pair.
  • Time savings on testing and set changes thanks to identifiable branches.
  • Fewer disconnect points compared to multiple individual cables.
  • Versatility to link equipment with TS jack outputs (instrument/line) to XLR inputs in racks, stages or patchbays.

Use cases

  • Studio : connecting TS jack outputs from interfaces, processors or synthesizers to XLR inputs of patch or preamps.
  • Direct : grouping of sends from a backline with jack outputs to a rack with XLR inputs.
  • AV Installations : Short, organized runs between the stage and the sides or between technical booths.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is it a balanced cable? No. The jack end is TS (mono) , so the interface is unbalanced . The XLR has 3 pins but is wired to carry an unbalanced signal from the jack.
  • Can I use 48V phantom power? It's not recommended. With TS–XLR connections, phantom power should be disabled to avoid noise or potential interference. If you need phantom power or true balanced power, use appropriate XLR–XLR cables/connections or interfaces.
  • Can it be used the other way around? It's a 1:1 multi-pair in terms of continuity, but the practical direction is determined by the connector type at each end (male TS jack to jack outputs; female XLR to XLR inputs).
