This model connects 8 × male mono jack (TS) to 8 × 3-pin female XLR with typical unbalanced link wiring from the jack side (tip to pin 2; ground to pins 1 and 3), allowing unbalanced outputs to be linked to XLR inputs when a connector size adjustment is required. Due to the unbalanced TS nature of the model, it is recommended that phantom power be disabled on any preamps or mixers to which it is connected.

Is it a balanced cable? No. The jack end is TS (mono) , so the interface is unbalanced . The XLR has 3 pins but is wired to carry an unbalanced signal from the jack.
