MOTU ULTRALITE MK 5 - Hybrid Audio Interface

HYBRID AUDIO INTERFACE (VARIOUS SYSTEMS) MOTU announces in April 2021 its new UltraLite-mk5 interface, a ground-up redesign of its award-winning 18 x 22 half-rack USB audio interface for macOS, Windows and iOS. The UltraLite-mk5 represents the fifth generation of a highly successful product due to its careful design and the successful combination of inputs and outputs in such a compact box. It matches the connectivity options of its popular predecessors, providing a total of 40 simultaneous I/O channels, including two front-panel XLR/TRS mic/line/hi-Z combo guitar inputs with preamps (+74 dB gain), 6 x 10 balanced quarter-inch jack analog I/O, 8-channel optical ADAT (switchable to stereo TOSLink), stereo RCA/PDIF I/O, and MIDI I/O jacks, all housed in a completely redesigned steel case design with molded aluminum alloy end caps.

A new high-resolution, high-contrast white OLED display provides precision metering for all analog inputs and outputs, along with digital I/O activity indicators and status information.

Updated ESS™ DAC technology drives all analog outputs, including headphone outputs, with the new ES9026PRO DAC delivering an impressive 125 dB dynamic range on the line outputs. The analog inputs far exceed previous models with a measured dynamic range of 120 dB and -114 dB THD+N (0.0002%). The microphone inputs deliver a remarkable -129 dB equivalent input noise (EIN).

The included CueMix™ 5 software has been completely redesigned as a native app for macOS, Windows 10, and iOS. Featuring a fresh, new user interface, CueMix 5 simplifies hardware (direct) monitoring, allowing users to activate monitoring for each input with a single click, directly on the main screen. Separate Mix tabs allow users to quickly create independent monitor mixes for each pair of analog outputs, with 4-band parametric EQ, gate, compression, and reverb.

The UltraLite-mk5 connects to computers via Hi-Speed ​​​​USB-C (class compliant, compatible with USB 2.0, 3.0 and iOS) and operates at sample rates up to 192 kHz.
