beamZ Pro Tiger 9R - 260W Beam Moving Head with Dual Prism and 14 Gobos
The beamZ Pro Tiger 9R is a professional 260W beam moving head designed to generate extremely focused beams and a spectacular visual impact on stages, in clubs, at festivals, and at live events. Equipped with a 260W MSD 9R discharge lamp with a color temperature of 8,000K , it delivers a very sharp 1° beam angle and an impressive 208,973 lx at 7m , ideal for long strokes, aerial effects, and high-impact looks.
This Beam spotlight integrates a gobo wheel with 14 static patterns plus an open position and a color wheel with 14 colors plus an open position , allowing you to create everything from simple, straightforward looks to highly complex lighting designs. The gobo shake effect , frost lens , and two motorized rotating prisms (one with 8 facets and the other with 48 facets ) greatly expand the creative possibilities, multiplying the beam and generating spectacular volumetric patterns in the air.
The Tiger 9R is designed to operate in both DMX and standalone modes, and offers automatic programs , master/slave operation, manual mode , and a sound-to-light mode . It features 16 or 20 selectable DMX channels , allowing you to tailor the level of control to each type of show. The LCD control panel facilitates direct setup at the spotlight, while automatic pan/tilt correction ensures the head's position remains precise even after bumps or sudden movements.
On the mechanical side, the moving head offers 540° pan and 180° tilt movements, with fast, fluid motors for aggressive movements or smooth sweeps depending on the scene design. The mechanical shutter allows for an adjustable strobe effect between 0 and 10 Hz , while the mechanical dimmer offers fine intensity control from 0 to 100%. Temperature-controlled fan cooling maintains lamp performance and system stability, optimizing the overall lifespan.
With an IP20 rating , the Tiger 9R is designed for professional indoor use. Its robust housing, dimensions of 310 x 250 x 510 mm , and weight of 13.65 kg make it an ideal tool for rental companies, nightclubs, and production companies looking for a powerful, reliable, and easy-to-mount beam moving head. It comes with a quick-lock omega clamp and P-Con power cable , allowing for quick and easy transfer from the flight case to the truss.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Tiger 9R just a Beam head?
Yes, it is primarily designed as a moving head beam with a 1° beam angle. However, thanks to the frost and double prism, it is possible to achieve softer or volumetric effects, expanding its versatility as a beam spotlight.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
The Tiger 9R has an IP20 rating , so it is intended for use exclusively indoors or in sheltered outdoor areas. If used outdoors, it must always be mounted under cover and following the manufacturer's recommendations.
How many DMX channels does it use?
The head offers two DMX modes , with 16 and 20 channels . This makes it suitable for both simple setups and lighting designs that require detailed access to all parameters.
What is the difference between 8-faceted and 48-faceted prisms?
The 8-facet prism generates a more controlled beam multiplication, ideal for defined patterns, while the 48-facet prism creates much denser and more spectacular effects, perfect for climactic moments of the show.
Does it have a music mode?
Yes, the Tiger 9R includes a Sound-to-Light mode , which reacts to ambient audio. It's a practical option for clubs, pubs, or events where you want to synchronize the lighting with the music without complex programming.
What type of power connector does it use?
It uses a P-Con connector with power input and output, allowing multiple units to be daisy-chained with clean and tidy cabling.
