NovaStar Taurus TB50 – 2-in-1 Media Player and LED Controller (Supports 1.3 Million Pixels)
The NovaStar TB50 is a professional Taurus series media player with integrated delivery for full-color LED displays. It combines content publishing and screen control in a compact package, with a loading capacity of up to 1,300,000 pixels and a maximum size of 4096 × 4096. It incorporates 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports (configurable as main and backup), HDMI 1.3 input and output (with loop-through), 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (AP/STA switchable), and local or remote management from a computer and mobile apps. Its Android 11 platform, 1.8 GHz quad-core ARM A55 processor, and H.264/H.265/VP9 hardware decoding up to 4K@60 Hz guarantee stable playback in digital signage, retail, chain stores, and smart city projects.
Main features
- Upload capacity : Up to 1.3 Mpx per device; max. width 4096 px and max. height 4096 px . Custom resolutions in asynchronous and synchronous modes with pixel clock ≤ 153 MHz .
- LED display outputs : 2 × RJ45 Gigabit (both primary by default; option of 1 primary + 1 backup for redundancy).
-
Video :
- HDMI OUT 1.3 with loop-through , max. 1920 × 1200 @ 60 Hz ; custom resolutions asynchronous (e.g., 400 × 4096 and 480 × 4096 @ 60 Hz); HDCP 1.4 ; non-interlaced output.
- HDMI IN 1.3 for synchronous mode with full screen scaling ( downscaling only; max. 1920 × 1080 ; source width/height between 512–2048 px ).
- Audio : Stereo output with 48 kHz fixed sampling rate; supports extraction via multifunction card (48 kHz required).
- Processing and Playback : ARM A55 1.8GHz CPU , 1GB RAM , 32GB internal storage; up to 2×4K , 6×1080p , 10×720p , or 20×360p playback (multi-screen synchronous playback halves decoding capacity).
- Connectivity and control : 2.4GHz Wi-Fi with switchable AP and STA modes; 1 × Gigabit Ethernet for management/networking; USB 3.0 (Type A) for playback/update/storage; USB (Type B) for PC control.
- Sensors and Sync : 2 connectors for brightness and temperature/humidity; sync between displays via NTP , GPS (with dedicated 4G module), or RF (dedicated RF module).

Product benefits
- All-in-one LED signage : player + sending card in a single unit, less hardware and faster start-ups.
- Flexible operation : Synchronous (HDMI IN) and asynchronous (internal playback) modes, switchable from the front panel.
- Centralized control : local (Ethernet/USB) or remote (Wi-Fi/cloud) management, with mobile apps for agile maintenance and monitoring.
- Playback Quality : 4K@60 hardware decoding in H.265/H.264/VP9 for smooth UHD and FHD content.
- Redundancy : possibility of a backup port to maintain transmission in the event of network incidents.
- Automation : Integration with brightness and ambient sensors to adjust the display to actual conditions.
Use cases
- Retail and QSR : Digital menus and window displays coordinated by store or network.
- Corporate and education : interior signage, auditoriums, and reception with control from PC and mobile devices.
- Smart City and street furniture : LED poles and totems with remote programming and time synchronization.
- Chains and franchises : batch publishing and synchronization between multiple screens (NTP/GPS/RF).
Frequently Asked Questions
