JBL Professional SRX918SF - 18" Powered Flyable Subwoofer with DSP and Networking (etherCON)

The JBL SRX918SF is an 18" flyable active subwoofer designed to work in suspended or ground-stacked arrays alongside SRX900 series full-range systems. It features convection-cooled Class D amplification with user DSP and full control via JBL Performance software through the HControl protocol. Its 18" JBL 2279G-1 transducer with Differential Drive® technology (dual voice coils, double air gap) delivers linear, low-distortion bass, reaching 134 dB SPL peak with usable response down to 35 Hz . The 18 mm birch plywood enclosure and large low-frequency port reduce turbulence even at high levels. It features integrated three-point rigging , an M20 threaded pole mount , and dual Ethernet ports with Neutrik etherCON connectors for network monitoring.

Main features

  • Powerful and controlled bass: JBL 2279G-1 (18") woofer with Differential Drive® for greater heat dissipation, less compression and a wide dynamic range.
  • Integrated amplification: Class D with 1,100 W continuous / 2,500 W peak and DSP with 24 filters, 2,000 ms delay, Array Size Compensation and FIR correction by distance.
  • Control and network: JBL Performance software (Windows, macOS, iPadOS) on HControl ; 2 × etherCON (100 Mb/s) .
  • Intelligent Protection: LevelMax with advanced excursion control algorithms to protect transducers.
  • Agile workflows: Rear LCD with encoder and LEDs for direct access to presets (60/80 Hz), cardioid or omnidirectional, and user settings.
  • Truck-friendly format: 18 mm birch enclosure with a large LF port and DuraFlex finish; designed for high-density storage and transport.
  • Integrated rigging: three points with captive plates and pins; compatible with mixed arrangements with SRX910LA .
  • Audio connectivity: Balanced input/output on 2 × XLR (IN/OUT), nominal sensitivity +6 dBu , max level +21 dBu .
  • Universal power supply: 100–240 VAC (limits 80–260 VAC), powerCON TRUE1 IN/OUT included.
  • Environment: IP54 specification (IEC 60529) with use of rain cover in direct rain conditions.

Product benefits

  • Ready-to-use system: integrated amplification and DSP ensure sonic consistency in any electrical environment.
  • High-level integration: centralized network control, cardioid presets , and FIR tools to maintain performance across different distances.
  • Maximum reliability on tour: robust construction, large LF port and LevelMax limiting for safe operation at high power levels.
  • True versatility: hang individually or in mixed arrangements with the SRX910LA; ground stack; M20 post for satellites.

Compatibility and mounting

  • Configurations: omnidirectional or cardioid mode by selecting the preset and orienting the boxes appropriately.
  • Mixed arrangements: same width and hardware as SRX910LA for combined or stacked overhangs.
  • Transport/Accessories: Compatible with SRX918S/SRX918SF VT (vertical cart) and specific SRX900 series cases.

Frequently Asked Questions
