The JBL Professional Control 227C is a 2-way coaxial ceiling loudspeaker designed for professional installations requiring superior sound quality and uniform coverage across large areas. Its 120° conical driver pattern maintains consistent directivity across a wide bandwidth, allowing it to cover more area with fewer points. It combines a Kevlar-reinforced 165 mm (6.5") woofer with a 25 mm (1") compression driver , managed by a steep crossover network that ensures a smooth, natural midrange, excellent speech intelligibility , and extended response for music.
The 227C (8 Ω) version is designed for low impedance operation with standard amplification. For 70/100 V distributed lines, choose the Control 227CT version. The 227C is supplied pre-mounted on a 305 mm diameter metal carrier baffle and is designed for installation with a pre-installed backcan (e.g., MTC-200BB6 , available separately). It features a removable multi-pin connector with screw terminals , allowing for pre-wiring and installation of the speaker during construction. It is suitable for use in plenums/air handling spaces when installed with a UL-listed backcan.
