The JBL Professional AW266-LS is a passive 2-way loudspeaker designed for permanent outdoor and exposed indoor installations where high intelligibility, coverage control, and reliability are required. It features a 12" JBL 2262H woofer with Differential Drive® technology (dual voice coil and double air gap) and a JBL 2432H compression driver (1.5" exit, 3" voice coil), coupled to a large-format PT™ (Progressive Transition) waveguide with a 60° × 60° pattern. The system can be installed vertically or horizontally while maintaining consistent coverage, making it easy to adapt to bleachers, facades, and service walkways.
The LS version incorporates sealed components and is EN 54-24 compliant for life safety and voice evacuation applications. Promotional materials often feature a non-LS unit for illustrative purposes. For versatile integration, the AW266-LS can operate on 8 Ω or 70/100 V networks using its internal 400 W transformer with selectable sockets. Its true all-weather construction combines a 100% hand-laminated fiberglass enclosure with a three-layer stainless steel grille , providing protection against rain, humidity, dust, and salt spray ( IP55C ). It is supplied with a corrosion-resistant U-shaped mounting bracket and is available in gray (gel-coat similar to Pantone 420C) and black .
