iRig HD X is IK Multimedia’s flagship guitar and bass interface, designed to connect directly to iPhone/iPad , Mac/PC , and Android . It offers 24-bit conversion with up to 96 kHz sampling in a pocket-sized form factor, and incorporates a quiet Hi-Z preamp ( 115 dB(A) dynamic range) that respects the character of passive or active pickups. A new multifunction control with LED ring manages headphone volume, Amp Out FX/THRU , Direct Monitoring , and Loopback+ mode , plus activates an ultra-fast onboard tuner for fine-tuning without opening any apps.

Connect your instrument to the 1/4" input, monitor via the 3.5mm stereo output (headphones/monitors), and send your signal to an amplifier via the 1/4" “Amp Out” output , choosing whether you want the signal THRU (dry) or FX (processed from your apps). Loopback+ mode turns the interface into 3 inputs / 2 outputs to route your processed tone to recording or streaming apps. All powered by the device itself via USB-C and with included USB-C↔USB-C and USB-C↔Lightning cables.

• What does the FX/THRU switch do? It selects whether the Amp Out sends the processed signal (FX) from your apps or the direct signal from the instrument (THRU).
• How does Loopback+ work? Activate it from the encoder: the interface switches to 3 inputs / 2 outputs (CH1-2 Loopback L/R, CH3 instrument) to send your processed tone to recording/video/streaming apps.
• Can I use direct monitoring and FX at the same time? If you activate Direct Monitor , the Amp Out is forced to THRU to avoid signal duplication. When you switch back to FX , direct monitoring is disabled.
