The iRig Pre HD is a microphone preamp and digital interface designed to connect any XLR microphone (dynamic, ribbon, or condenser) to your iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch), Android (with USB audio), Mac , and PC devices in studio-quality 24-bit/96 kHz . It features +48 V phantom power powered by two AA batteries (included), switchable direct monitoring, a 100 mW 3.5 mm headphone output, and a multi-color LED indicator for easy gain adjustment. It’s an MFi (Made for iPhone/iPad/iPod) solution with Lightning , USB-A , and USB-C cables in the box, pocket-sized, and has a flat 20 Hz–20 kHz (±1.5 dB) response for capturing vocals, instruments, interviews, podcasts , and live performances with consistent results.

Does it require batteries? For basic use with dynamic microphones, the interface can be powered from the host (computer). To activate +48 V phantom power with condenser microphones , two AA batteries (included) are required.
Is it compatible with Android? Yes, with Android 5+ devices that support USB audio . If your phone uses micro-USB , you'll need a micro-USB↔micro-USB OTG cable (not included). With USB-C phones, you can use the included USB-C↔micro-USB cable.
Can it be used for recording instruments? It's an interface for XLR microphones . For Hi-Z instruments, dedicated iRig interfaces are recommended.
