Crown CTD-4125 — ComTech D Amplifier with Dante, 4x125 W and Power Sharing

The Crown CTD-4125 is a 4-channel installation amplifier that delivers 125W per channel when all channels are working equally. Its asymmetrical power sharing architecture allows all four channels to share a total of 500W in any proportion, so you can allocate power exactly where each zone or speaker needs it. It features built-in DSP for room and speaker tuning, with factory-installed JBL SpeakerTunings for select models (including the JBL Control 400 in-ceiling series), speeding the implementation of complete HARMAN solutions.

For networked audio, the CTD-4125 offers Dante inputs and outputs with support for redundant configurations and the ability to select the tap point for the Dante outputs (from pre-processed analog signal, speaker preset, or post-set), facilitating routing and monitoring within complex systems. Configuration is done from a browser using an intuitive WebUI , without the need for proprietary software, while large-scale management is centralized with AVX Manager . For control and integration, it uses the HControl protocol to communicate natively with BSS OMNI processors and AMX MUSE controllers , and includes a simple third-party API .

The outputs are switchable Lo-Z/Hi-Z and support 4/8 Ω and 70/100 V in any combination, maximizing compatibility with low-impedance speakers and line voltages. For system monitoring, there is a pilot tone , Load Monitoring , and a source priority mixer on the inputs, plus GPIO with multiple GPIs for user interfaces and a dedicated GPO for status and alerts. The compact 1 RU, half-rack width chassis allows for rack, under-desk, or wall-mount installation with the included hardware. Dimensions: 43 × 220 × 358 mm . Weight: 3.2 kg .

Main features

  • 4 × 125 W (all channels on equal terms) with power distribution up to 500 W total in any proportion.
  • Switchable Lo-Z/Hi-Z outputs : support 4/8 Ω and 70/100 V in any combination.
  • Dante with I/O , redundancy support, and selectable Dante outputs from pre- or post-processed points.
  • Built-in DSP for EQ, filters, and pre-loaded JBL SpeakerTunings .
  • Configuration via WebUI without proprietary software; management with AVX Manager .
  • HControl with native BSS OMNI and AMX MUSE integration + third-party API .
  • Supervision : Pilot tone, Load Monitoring and source priority switching .
  • GPIO : multiple GPI for control (volume, mute, source selection, etc.) and dedicated GPO for status/alerts.
  • 1 RU, ½ rack chassis with included mounting hardware for rack, under-table or wall mounting.
  • Dimensions and weight : 43 × 220 × 358 mm; 3.2 kg.

Benefits for integrators and users

  • Power flexibility : adapts channel delivery to the size of each zone without changing stages.
  • Less equipment : DSP, Dante I/O, and WebUI reduce additional hardware and deployment time.
  • True interoperability with HARMAN ecosystems (BSS/AMX) and third-party control systems.
  • Reliability : Network redundancy and monitoring tools help maintain service continuity.
  • Space efficiency : 4 channels in 1 RU half-width, ideal for compact racks and locations.

Use cases

  • Retail, hospitality and leisure : multi-zone ambient music with different levels per area.
  • Corporate and education : meeting/training rooms with room profiles and centralized control.
  • Hotels and resorts : combination of 70/100 V lines with specific areas in low impedance.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I mix low-impedance speakers and 70/100V lines? Yes. The outputs are switchable between Low-Z and High-Z and can be combined depending on the project.
  • Does it have Dante network redundancy? Yes, the ComTech D series supports redundant Dante configurations.
  • Do I need software to set it up? No, it can be configured from any browser via the WebUI.
  • Does it include speaker presets? Yes, it includes JBL SpeakerTunings for select models (e.g., JBL Control 400).
