Philips MASTER MHN-SA 1800W/956 (P)SFC 400V – Short arc metal halide lamp for stadiums and architectural projection
The Philips MASTER MHN-SA 1800W/956 (P)SFC 400V is a quartz metal halide (double pinch) lamp designed for high-performance projectors in sports , architectural , and large-format lighting applications. It offers a stable daylight color temperature of 5,600 K (code 956) with a CRI of 86 , a P15 operating position (parallel ±15° or horizontal), and a 50% failure rate lifetime of 6,100 hours . With a nominal power consumption of 1,850 W and an efficacy of 86 lm/W , it delivers a nominal luminous flux of 160,000 lm , ideal for powerful and uniform beams with precision optics. It uses a double (P)SFC base and must always be used with an external ballast and ignitor in fully enclosed luminaires to ensure safety and performance.
Main features
- High photometric performance: 160,000 lm (≈86 lm/W) at 1,850 W ; CRI 86 ; 5,600 K (code 956).
- Short arc and optical control: 25 mm arc length for greater beam concentration and less light spill.
- Base/socket: (P)SFC double end (industrial equivalent SFC20-6 ), robust clamping for professional projectors.
- Dimensions: Ø 41 mm × length 364 mm ; TD40 shape (40 mm tube) with transparent bulb.
- Operating position: P15 (parallel ±15° / horizontal), optimized for flow stability and life.
- Electrical compatibility: lamp voltage 205 V ; requires external ballast and igniter (400 V systems).
- Non-dimmable: This lamp does not support dimming .
- Service life (L50/F50): 6,100 h (at 50% failure rate).
- Safety and environment: Hg 234 mg ; use exclusively in enclosed luminaires .
Product benefits
- High illuminance with 5600K daylight color, ideal for cameras and broadcasts.
- Precise optics and great "punch" thanks to the short arc, facilitating uniformity and range.
- Reliability in critical applications: double-pinch quartz construction and (P)SFC base.
Use cases
- Sports lighting: fields, pavilions and stadiums with television requirements.
- Architecture and large surfaces: facades, monuments, bridges and long-distance projections.
- Shows and events: large format projectors and high flow wash screens .
Compatibility and assembly
- Install only in enclosed and approved luminaires for high-power metal halide lamps.
- Use with external ballast and igniter according to the manufacturer's specifications (400 V systems).
- Respect the P15 position to maximize life and color/flow stability.
Security
In case of breakage, ventilate the area for 30 minutes, collect the fragments wearing gloves, place them in a sealed bag, and take them to an authorized recycling center. Do not use a vacuum cleaner. Contains mercury (Hg).
