Electro-Voice TXA - TA4 to XLR Adapter with Preamp and High-Pass Filter for EV/Telex Microphones

The Electro-Voice TXA is an in-line adapter/preamplifier that allows wired (XLR) use of TA4F-terminated lavalier and headset microphones—such as the RE920TX , RE97TX / RE97-2TX , RE97LTx , or HM7 —by connecting them directly to a phantom-powered mixing console or interface. The TXA converts standard console phantom power (9–52 V) to the correct bias voltage for back-electret condenser capsules used by EV/Telex bodypack microphones, and delivers a balanced signal via XLR, with additional high-pass filter control and −10 dB pad for level matching and low-frequency rumble.

Its plug-and-play design streamlines your workflow for rental, live, theater, or corporate applications: connect the TA4F microphone to the TXA's TA4M connector , power it from the mixer, and connect the male XLR output to the appropriate channel. A belt clip is included for securing it to the performer or a music stand.

Main features

  • EV/Telex Universal Interface: TA4M input for TA4F (wireless lavalier/headset) microphones and balanced male XLR output.
  • Power: Operates on 9–52 V phantom power and supplies +5 V bias to the microphone (max. current 2 mA ).
  • Integrated Bass Control: Switchable high-pass filter (typical cutoff at 100 Hz , −6 dB) to minimize rumbles/pops.
  • Level management: switchable −10 dB attenuator for high-level sources or voices.
  • Wide response: 20 Hz–20 kHz to maintain the microphone's tonal quality.
  • Ergonomics: In-line format with included belt clip .

Product benefits

  • Convert your wireless mic to wired: use your TA4F lavaliers/headsets directly to XLR without a beltpack or receiver.
  • Consistent sound: Correct polarization and HPF filter preserve clarity and intelligibility in voice and instruments.
  • Instant integration: compatibility with standard mixers thanks to phantom power and balanced XLR output.

Compatibility and use cases

  • Compatible EV/Telex microphones (TA4F): RE920TX , RE97TX , RE97-2TX , RE97LTx , HM7 , among other headband and lavalier models for bodypacks.
  • Applications: corporate speech and presentations, theater and worship, vocal reinforcement at events, and AV rentals.
