Vonyx SL12 - 12" 600W Passive Speaker

Vonyx SL12 - 12" 600W Passive Speaker

The Vonyx SL12 is a professional-grade passive loudspeaker designed to deliver robust and reliable sound performance in a wide range of applications. With its 2-way trapezoidal design, this speaker is the ideal solution for mobile DJs, musicians, small event venues, rehearsal spaces, or private parties seeking powerful, clear sound without a significant investment. Its solid construction and quality components ensure balanced and impactful audio reproduction.

The core of the SL12 is its 2-way bass reflex system, which optimizes low-frequency response for deep, well-defined bass. It features a 12-inch (30 cm) woofer with an oversized ferrite magnet, providing the power needed to handle bass with precision. For the mid and high frequencies, it incorporates a piezoelectric horn that ensures crisp, detailed reproduction, resulting in a full, well-distributed sound across the entire frequency range.

Main features

• Professional 2-Way Design: The configuration with a 12-inch woofer and a piezoelectric horn ensures full coverage of the sound spectrum, from the deepest bass to the clearest treble.
• Bass Reflex System: The bass reflex ports improve efficiency in low frequencies, providing a more powerful and punchier bass sound.
• Robust Construction: The box is covered with a black acoustic carpet that not only gives it a professional look, but also dampens vibrations and protects the speaker from bumps and scratches during transport.
• Protection and Portability: A sturdy metal grille protects the woofer from damage. It also features integrated side handles for easy handling and transport, and a 35mm bottom cone (Top Hat) for simple mounting on tripods or standard stands.
• Versatile Connectivity: It has 6.3 mm jack input connectors and quick-connect terminals (terminals), offering flexibility to connect it to different types of amplifiers and sound systems.

Benefits for the user

The Vonyx SL12 is a passive loudspeaker, meaning it requires an external amplifier to operate. This gives you the freedom to choose the amplifier that best suits your power and performance needs, allowing you to unlock the system's full potential. With a maximum power output of 600W, this loudspeaker is capable of filling small to medium-sized spaces with considerable sound pressure, reaching a maximum SPL of 121 dB. Its lightweight yet durable design makes it a reliable companion for any traveling event.

Use cases

This speaker is exceptionally versatile and perfectly suited to a multitude of situations. It's an excellent choice for DJs who need equipment that's easy to transport and set up in different venues. It's also ideal for small bands or solo artists performing in bars, cafes, or rehearsal spaces. Furthermore, its robustness and power make it suitable for permanent installations in pubs, gyms, or as part of a sound system for conferences and corporate events.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of amplifier do I need for this speaker?
The Vonyx SL12 is a passive loudspeaker with an 8-ohm impedance and a program power rating of 300W (600W peak). For optimal performance, it is recommended to use an external amplifier capable of delivering similar power at 8 ohms per channel.

Can I connect this speaker directly to my computer or mobile device?
No, being a passive speaker, it doesn't have internal amplification. You need to connect it to a power amplifier, and that in turn to your audio source, such as a mixer, computer, or phone.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Although its construction is robust, it is not specifically designed to withstand the elements (rain, extreme humidity). It can be used at outdoor events in dry conditions, but it must be protected from the elements.

Does it include the connection cables?
Speaker cables are typically sold separately to allow the user to choose the length and connector type that best suits their setup.
