sE Electronics SE7 (Pair) – Small Diaphragm Condenser Microphone
The factory-matched pair of sE Electronics SE7 microphones is designed to deliver detailed, natural pickup characteristics in a wide variety of studio and live applications. Equipped with a carefully selected and hand-crafted 1/2" back-electret condenser capsule, they feature discrete Class A circuitry and transformerless output for clean sound with defined lows and smooth highs. With an optimized acoustic design and adjustable pad and low-cut switches, the sE7s handle high SPLs without distortion and eliminate low-frequency rumble, bringing the microphones closer to their source with no loss in sound quality.
Main features
- Transducer: ½″ (12.7 mm) diaphragm back-electret condenser.
- Polar Pattern: Cardioid, for sharp focus and rejection of off-axis signals.
- Frequency range: 20 Hz – 20 kHz, linear response across the entire audible spectrum.
- Sensitivity: 19 mV/Pa (–34.5 dBV), captures both whispers and loud signals.
- Maximum SPL: 136/156 dB SPL (no pad / 20 dB pad) without distortion.
- Switchable low-cut filter: 80 Hz to –6 dB/oct to eliminate rumble and excessive proximity.
- Attenuation pad: 20 dB, to handle high sound pressure sources.
- Equivalent noise level: 16 dB(A) for silent recordings.
- Dynamic range: 120/140 dB (without pad / pad 20 dB).
- Signal-to-noise ratio: 78 dB.
- Output impedance: < 200 Ω; recommended load > 1 kΩ.
- Power supply: Phantom +48 V according to IEC 61938; consumption 3 mA.
- Connectivity: 3-pin male XLR connector.
