sE Electronics SE4400 – Multi-pattern large diaphragm condenser microphone
The SE4400 combines the warm, smooth sound of vintage condensers with the reliability and precision of modern engineering. It features a gold-plated, 1" true condenser brass capsule with dual Mylar diaphragms, hand-tuned to deliver a smooth, musical response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz . Four switchable polar patterns (cardioid, hypercardioid, omnidirectional, and Figure 8) let you tailor the pickup to any source or recording technique, while adjustable pads (–10/–20 dB) and a low-cut filter (40/80 Hz) ensure a wide, controlled dynamic range. With an equivalent noise floor of just 13 dB(A) and a sensitivity of 25 mV/Pa, the SE4400 handles SPLs up to 157 dB without noticeable distortion, making it a true workhorse for vocals, pianos, strings, drums, and live reinforcement.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I use multiple patterns at the same time? No; only one pattern at a time using the mechanical selector.
- Does the pad affect the EQ? No; it only attenuates the level, maintaining a flat frequency response.
- Does it need maintenance? Clean the grid with a soft cloth; no calibration is required.
