The S2V is a two-way nearfield monitor designed for use in small to medium-sized control rooms. The 7-inch woofer, newly created from the ground up for the new S Series, covers frequencies ranging from 35 Hz to 3 kHz and delivers powerful, distortion-free bass with a wide dynamic range. The refined S-ART tweeter, hand-built as always in the ADAM audio factory in Berlin, works perfectly in conjunction with the new HPS horn, creating absolutely precise stereo imaging within a generously proportioned sweet spot. The S2V's compact dimensions belie its impressive power. A 300 W Class D amplifier drives the woofer while a 50 W Class A/B unit drives the S-ART tweeter. The combined output produces SPLs of up to 120 dB per pair. The super-powerful, over-the-top DSP featured in the new ADAM S Series models optimizes the speakers' crossover frequencies to create linear responses across the entire frequency range, in addition to providing user parametric EQ and in-room tuning/broadcasting functions. This DSP also manages peak-limiting protection for the high-frequency driver, processes signals from the AES3 digital inputs, and will eventually facilitate various expansion options for all members of this new series. Software updates can be easily performed via the associated USB port, which also allows users to connect computers and control the speakers' DSP functions via software from the front of the speakers for added convenience when working in the studio. With its highly accurate frequency response and crystal-clear, balanced imaging, the S2V allows users to accurately identify the finest audio details, making it an ideal choice for use in demanding studio environments.
