Electro-Voice RE20 - Variable-D Cardioid Dynamic Microphone for Voiceover, Podcasting, and Studio
The Electro-Voice RE20 is a benchmark cardioid dynamic microphone for radio, podcasting, and audio production. Its Variable-D design controls proximity effect for consistent timbre even at close range , while an internal pop filter and shockmount reduce plosives and vibration noise. It features a humbucking coil to reject hum caused by magnetic fields, and a low-cut switch optimizes vocal articulation. With a 45Hz–18kHz response, 150Ω balanced impedance , and 1.5mV/Pa sensitivity , the RE20 delivers a natural, controlled sound without the need for phantom power. The steel body (beige finish) is designed for intensive professional use; it comes with an 81715 clamp and is compatible with the 309A shockmount as an optional accessory.
