NovaStar VX600 – 2-in-1 Controller + Processor for LED Displays (Supports 3.9 Million Pixels)
The NovaStar VX600 is an all-in-one controller (video controller + video processor) designed for professional-level LED projects requiring reliability, speed of operation and image quality. It integrates processing and sending to the screen in a single unit, with 6 Ethernet ports and a load capacity of up to 3.9 million pixels . It supports ultra-wide and ultra-high surfaces with maximum limits of 10,240 px wide and 8192 px high , continuous output scaling, low latency , 3-layer management and Genlock synchronization . It incorporates a light sensor connector and is compatible with NovaLCT and V-Can software to configure screens, manage backups, layers and presets, and update firmware with simple and secure field workflows.
Main features
- Load and geometry : Up to 3.9 Mpx per unit; max. width 10,240 px and max. height 8,192 px ; stepless scaling without jumps.
-
Video entries :
- 2 × HDMI 1.3 (with loop-through on HDMI 1.3-1). Standard resolution up to 1920 × 1200 @ 60 Hz ; custom resolutions supported (e.g., 3840 × 648 @ 60 Hz or 600 × 3840 @ 60 Hz ); HDCP 1.4.
- 1 × DVI (IN & LOOP). Up to 1920 × 1200 at 60 Hz ; custom resolutions as with HDMI; HDCP 1.4.
- 1 × 3G-SDI (IN & LOOP). Up to 1920 × 1080 at 60 Hz with deinterlacing; compatible with ST-424/292/259.
- 1 × OPT1 10G (fiber) self-adaptive as input or output. As input it supports 1 × 4K × 1K at 60 Hz or 2 × 2K × 1K at 60 Hz .
-
Departures :
- 6 × Gigabit Ethernet ports for LED (audio through ports 1/2 when using multifunction card).
- 2 × OPT (10G): OPT1 self-adaptive (input/output) and OPT2 output only with Copy / Backup modes to copy or backup all 6 Ethernet ports.
- 1 × HDMI 1.3 for monitoring or video output. In Video Controller , monitoring operates at 1920 × 1080 at 60 Hz ; in video output mode, the resolution is adjustable as needed.
- Processing & Layers : 3 layers (adjustable size, position, and priority), free cropping, one-click “full screen.”
- Low Latency : Delay from input to receiving card reduced to 20 lines when Low Latency and Bypass mode are enabled.
- Synchronization : Genlock IN/LOOP (bi-level/tri-level) or internal source to keep several cascaded units in phase.
- Color and Uniformity : Comprehensive adjustment (brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, and gamma) and pixel-level brightness and chroma calibration with NovaLCT and NovaStar calibration software.
- Mosaic : Tiled input source via OPT1 (two 2K × 1K sources at 60 Hz); up to 4 units cascaded for image mosaic .
- Hot backups : between devices, between Ethernet ports, and between input sources.
- Connectivity and control : Ethernet for control, USB-B/USB-A for daisy chaining, light sensor connector for automatic brightness.
- Design and consumption : 1U rack format (483.6 × 351.2 × 50.1 mm), 4 kg , 35 W nominal consumption, 100–240 V~ 50/60 Hz.
- Certifications : CE, CB, UL, CMIM, EAC, FCC, IC, RCM, UKCA, KC.
Product benefits
- Less equipment, more control : processing and shipping in a single unit, reducing space, wiring, and points of failure.
- Stable, fine scaling : The SuperView III image engine ensures smooth transitions and sharpness in 21:9 formats, wide or tall surfaces.
- Streamlined Operation : Front panel with shortcuts and flows with NovaLCT/V-Can to configure displays, backups, and up to 10 presets ready to load instantly.
- Flawless synchronization : Genlock between devices and low latency for live, broadcast or any time-sensitive application.
- Professional Uniformity : LED adjustment (brightness and chroma) to improve consistency on fine-pitch displays.
Use cases
- Rentals and events : concerts, festivals, conferences, and trade shows with 21:9 surfaces or large LED walls.
- Stage and broadcast : Genlock synchronization and stable control on sets and stages.
- Retail, corporate and museums : LED video walls with self-regulating brightness via light sensor.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Can Genlock and Low Latency be enabled at the same time? In Video Controller mode, they are not mutually exclusive. In Bypass mode , they cannot be enabled simultaneously.
- How does HDMI monitoring work? In Video Controller mode, the HDMI monitoring output operates at 1920 × 1080 at 60 Hz . When used as a video output, the resolution can be adjusted.
- What are the limitations of the input tile? Only the main layer can use the tiled source; when enabled, PIP layers cannot be opened.
