The Electro-Voice ND96-RC3 is a threaded microphone head for handheld wireless transmitters featuring the renowned ND96 dynamic capsule with a supercardioid neodymium magnet. It is designed to deliver exceptional gain-before-feedback in very loud environments thanks to its optimized acoustics, ultra-tough Memraflex grille , and 4-point + pump shock mount that effectively reduces handling noise. A built-in presence boost switch allows switching between two sound signatures (flat or presence) for improved intelligibility in high-energy sound reinforcement. The industry-standard 1.25″-28 UN-2A connector and 3-ring / 3-pin contacts are compatible with Electro-Voice handheld transmitters and other brands using the same convention.

The capsule uses an oversized Mylar diaphragm for rich, detailed response, a hydrophobic membrane to protect against moisture and dirt, and a humbucking coil to attenuate AC hum and electromagnetic interference. The floating identification collar allows the marking to align with the transmitter body when tightening the screw.
