JBL Professional VTX-B15G - Compact 15" Floor-Stacking Subwoofer with SlipStream Ports and Cardioid Operation

The JBL Professional VTX-B15G is a compact 15-inch subwoofer designed to extend the low frequencies of full-range VTX systems (including the VTX A6 ) when space and weight are a priority. It shares the same acoustics as the VTX B15 but does not require rigging hardware , reducing weight and cost in applications where flying is not required. It incorporates the new JBL 2285H transducer with Differential Drive technology (dual voice coil/dual air gap, neodymium magnets and a carbon fiber reinforced cone ) and dual-port SlipStream ports that reduce turbulence and noise. Front and rear panel NL4 connectivity and Pin 1± / Pin 2± switching simplify creating cardioid blocks with clean wiring. Its tour-grade birch plywood construction with a DuraFlex finish, steel grille and IP55 certification guarantee reliability on the road and in installations.

For stacking, the B15G can serve as a base for VTX systems and supports the use of the A6 BP plate for stacking A6 VTX arrays on top of the sub. It also features 16 M10 eyebolt points for fixed-installation applications where individual unit suspension is required. With presets and support for JBL LAC-3, Array Link, and Performance Manager , the workflow is fast and repeatable for rental, theater, houses of worship, and corporate events.

Main features

  • State-of-the-art acoustics: 15" JBL 2285H woofer ( Differential Drive , dual 4" voice coils, dual air gap, neodymium, carbon fiber cone) with high excursion and low thermal compression.
  • SlipStream™ Ports: Double flared for less turbulence and cleaner bass extension.
  • Single Cardioid: Rear and front NL4 connectors and Pin 1±/2± selector to configure omnidirectional or cardioid blocks with tidy wiring.
  • Ground-oriented design: acoustically identical to the VTX B15 but without rigging , ideal for ground-stack and applications where the sub will not be flown.
  • Touring-grade and IP55 construction: Birch plywood (15/18/24 mm), DuraFlex finish, 16-gauge steel grille with mesh, IP55 , MIL-STD-810 and UV resistance.
  • Fixed installation: 16 M10 points for eyebolts in suspension of a unit (installations).
  • VTX Ecosystem: Integration with Crown I-Tech 4×3500HD / 9000HD / 12000HD and JBL software.

Product benefits

  • More performance in less space: powerful and defined bass in a compact and lightweight format.
  • Operational versatility: from omnidirectional to cardioid by simply orienting the enclosure and selecting a preset, without the complexity of wiring.
  • Optimized logistics: By eliminating rigging, weight and cost are reduced when the sub is not being flown.
  • Real-world reliability: IP55 construction and sealing suitable for intensive use and demanding environments.

Use cases

  • Touring, rental, and events requiring compact, ground-stacked subwoofers.
  • Theaters, churches and auditoriums seeking controlled LF extension with a reduced footprint.
  • Systems with A6 VTX stacked on B15G using the A6 BP board.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it differ from the VTX B15? The B15G is acoustically identical to the B15 but doesn't include rigging hardware ; it's designed for floor stacking, reducing weight and cost.

Can it be cardioid? Yes. The front and rear NL4 connectors and the Pin 1±/2± selector allow for cardioid or omnidirectional blocks with dedicated presets.

Can I suspend it? It's not a flyable subframe; however, it has 16 M10 mounting points for a fixed-mount unit using eyebolts .
