JBL Professional VRX-AF - Suspension frame for VRX932LA/VRX918S arrays

The JBL Professional VRX-AF is the official suspension frame for VRX900 Series systems, designed specifically for flying arrays powered by the VRX932LA-1 (12" enclosures) and VRX918S (18" subwoofers). The kit includes the center frame , two side arms, quick-release pins, and 3/8" shackles, allowing for secure and agile rigging for both touring and fixed installations. The design allows for the use of a second pull-back frame for fine-tuning pitch, as well as the use of M10 eyebolts for permanent installations. Per official specification, passive models can be flown with up to six cabinets per array; specific maximum combinations apply to powered versions. A dimensional drawing provides measurement references and anchor points for precise angle adjustment.

Main features

  • Dedicated compatibility: Designed for VRX932LA-1 and VRX918S ; also compatible with VRX932LAP and VRX918SP (self-powered), respecting their specific limits.
  • Complete kit ready to fly: 1 center frame, 2 side arms, 4 quick release pins , 2 levers ( drop levers ) and 2 3/8" shackles .
  • Array capability (passive models): arrays of up to 6 cabinets in total (VRX932LA-1 and/or VRX918S), with the subwoofers always on top.
  • Combinations for self-powered versions (reference): typical examples with VRX932LAP/VRX918SP : 0/5, 2/4, 3/3, 3/2, 4/1, 4/0 (subs/caps), maintaining minimum design factor 7:1.
  • Bottom pull-back : possibility of installing a second VRX-AF at the base of the array to achieve steeper roll-back angles.
  • Permanent installation: M10 eyebolt points (kit #229-00009-01) when fixed suspension is required.
  • Guidance and safety: Load limits and combinations validated in the series user guide; minimum safety factor 7:1 .
  • Dimensions as per drawing: central bar approx. 635 mm long; side arms approx. 610 mm ; hole spacing 65 mm ; other reference dimensions: 445, 330, 292, 117 and thicknesses 10–13 mm.
