JBL Professional CSMA 1120 - Commercial Mixer/Amplifier 4 inputs, 120 W, 70/100 V and 4/8 Ω
The JBL Professional CSMA 1120 is a quiet (fanless) 1U mixer/amplifier designed for commercial installations requiring ease of use, reliability, and compatibility with 70/100 V or low impedance (4/8 Ω) distributed lines . It features 4 mixing channels with balanced mic/line (Euroblock) inputs and, on channels 2–4, stereo RCA inputs summed to mono. Channel 1 adds contact priority and VOX ducking for announcements. The power amplifier delivers 120 W and relies on Crown DriveCore™ technology for high energy efficiency. A Hi-Z switch activates the internal 70/100 V transformer (with automatic 70 Hz HPF filter), while 27 V phantom power can be enabled for microphones. On the front, controls are limited to per-channel volumes with illuminated rings, master , bass and treble , and power ; on the rear panel includes auxiliary line output and RJ-45 port for remote volume control CSR-V .
Main features
- Output power: 120 W @ 4/8 Ω (1 kHz, THD+N < 0.5%); also 70/100 V via internal transformer (insertion loss ≤ 1 dB).
- 4 mix inputs (Ch1–Ch4): balanced Euroblock mic/line ; on Ch2–Ch4, stereo RCA summed to mono.
- Priority Channel 1 : 5-pin connector for balanced audio + contact closure; VOX ducking on Ch1.
- Hi-Z switch : enables 70/100 V outputs and applies 70 Hz high-pass filter automatically.
- Switchable 27V phantom power for all microphone inputs.
- Remote volume control via RJ-45 port with CSR-V panels (Cat 5 cable).
- Response : 20 Hz–20 kHz (±2 dB) into 4/8 Ω; 80 Hz–15 kHz (±2 dB) into 70/100 V; line output 20 Hz–20 kHz (±1 dB).
- SNR ≥ 100 dB (A-weighted, 1 kHz); THD < 0.5% (power output).
- Form factor : 1U, 43.3 × 218.5 × 303.4 mm (H × W × D); rack mount kit included.
- Efficiency and reliability : DriveCore™ technology, fanless design, Energy Star® certified.
Product benefits
- Versatile installation : a single unit covers 4/8 Ω and 70/100 V systems without external transformers.
- Simple operation : clean front panel with illuminated rings; minimal learning curve for non-technical personnel.
- Clear and controlled announcements : contact priority and VOX on Ch1 to mute music during messages.
- Scalability : Zone volume control with CSR-V , Auxiliary output for additional recording/zone.
- Energy saving : high efficiency DriveCore and automatic sleep mode.
Use cases
- Retail and hospitality: background music with priority voice announcements.
- Education and corporate: classrooms, meeting rooms, hallways, and reception areas.
- Fitness centers, museums, and public spaces: local control with the CSR-V panel.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I work with 70/100 V? Activate the Hi-Z and wire it to the 70 V/100 V and COM terminals. The system applies a 70 Hz HPF to protect the installation.
- Can I power condenser microphones? Yes, by enabling the 27V phantom power (applies to all microphone inputs).
- What inputs does it have? Ch1: Balanced Euroblock + contact priority . Ch2–Ch4: Euroblock mic/line and stereo RCA (mono sum).
- Can the volume be controlled from the wall? Yes, using the CSR-V connected to the RJ-45 port.
