The JBL Professional Control 16C-VA is an EN54-24 certified two-way ceiling loudspeaker designed for voice evacuation and fixed PA systems requiring high intelligibility, reliability, and wide, even coverage. Its coaxial driver combines a 165 mm woofer with a polypropylene cone and butyl rubber surround, and a 19 mm liquid-cooled soft dome tweeter. The assembly is mounted in a vented, paintable, UV-resistant baffle (UL94-V0/UL94-5VB rated ABS) with a pre-installed galvanized steel rear can (blind-mount) for quick installation and stable performance in plenum spaces.
The Control 16C-VA offers a bandwidth of 62 Hz to 20 kHz and a wide 110° conical coverage, maintaining consistent on-axis and off-axis ringing. Its 91 dB sensitivity and 12 dB/octave crossover network provide clear voice and a balanced response for background music. It features ceramic terminals with brass inserts and a watertight cable gland (Ø 4–9 mm), complying with BS5839 Part 8 and offering a minimum IP-21 ingress protection rating, all geared towards safety in voice alarm applications. It operates at low impedance (8 Ω, 50 W continuous pink noise / 100 W program) and on 70/100 V lines via a multi-tap transformer (30/15/7.5 W and 3.8 W at 70 V), facilitating integration into new or existing installations.
