PROEL HPC80 - Balanced microphone cable for installation with PVC jacket Ø 4mm

The PROEL HPC80 is an engineered solution specifically designed to meet the challenges of professional cabling in fixed installations and high-density systems. Unlike standard stage microphone cables, this model features an ultra-compact profile of just 4 mm in outer diameter , making it the ideal choice for environments where space savings and tidy cable management are critical, without compromising audio signal integrity.

Manufactured under strict quality standards, its core features Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) conductors, guaranteeing pure, crystal-clear, and long-term oxidation-free transmission. Its balanced internal structure ensures effective noise cancellation, while its overall aluminum foil shielding provides 100% coverage, creating an impenetrable barrier against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI), common in racks full of electronic equipment.

The outer jacket, made of 80 Shore hardness PVC , offers a perfect balance between mechanical protection and flexibility. This allows the installer to route the cable through narrow conduits, corners, and complex cable passages without risk of damaging the internal conductors or compromising the shielding. It's the "invisible" cable that works silently behind your equipment so that sound is the only focus.

Main features

  • Reduced diameter design: At only 4 mm thick, it allows for grouping more lines in the same space, making it easier to comb and organize inside racks.
  • High-purity OFC conductors: The use of oxygen-free copper maximizes electrical conductivity and minimizes signal loss in long runs.
  • Total shielding: The aluminum foil shield covers the entire cable, ensuring superior insulation against external noise.
  • Built-in drain wire: Includes a tinned copper drain conductor in constant contact with the screen to facilitate quick and safe ground soldering.
  • Polyethylene (PE) Insulation: Maintains low and stable capacitance, preserving the brightness and high-frequency response of the audio signal.

Benefits for the integrator and the user

  • Space optimization: Its slim profile is ideal for decongesting the back of racks and saturated cable trays, improving airflow and the aesthetics of the assembly.
  • Long-term reliability: Thanks to corrosion- and aging-resistant materials, the installations maintain their technical specifications for years without the need for maintenance.
  • Ease of handling: Despite being an installation cable, its flexible PVC cover allows for smooth bends and easy stripping, speeding up connectorization times on site.
  • Clean signal in harsh environments: Perfect for places with high electrical pollution (near power supplies or dimmers) thanks to its aluminum shielding.

Use cases

  • Internal Rack Cabling: Connection between audio processors, power stages and matrices in 19-inch cabinets.
  • Patch-Bays and Connection Panels: Ideal for soldering on the back of Bantam or TT patch-panels where the space between connectors is minimal.
  • Fixed installations in architecture: Passages through thin corrugated pipes in walls or false ceilings in auditoriums, conference rooms and recording studios.
  • Multi-effects systems: Creation of custom cable bundles for pedalboards or complex effects management systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this cable suitable for use with handheld microphones on stage?
Although it would work electrically, it's not designed for that purpose. Its sheath is thinner (4 mm) and less resistant to constant stomping and pulling than a standard stage cable (6 to 7 mm). Its ideal use is in fixed installations where it won't be constantly moved.
  • Can I use it for line signals as well as microphone?
Yes, absolutely. It's perfect for balanced line signals (+4dBu) between rack equipment, mixing consoles, and peripherals.
  • Is it difficult to weld due to its size?
No, in fact, it's designed for that. The drain wire greatly simplifies connecting the ground wire without having to unravel braided mesh, speeding up the technician's work.
  • What type of connectors should I use?
It is recommended to use XLR or Jack connectors designed for small diameter cables or those with adjustable cable clamps that can close up to 4 mm to ensure good mechanical retention.

Project description
