BSS BLU-CARD-IN - 4-channel analog input card for Soundweb London
The BSS BLU-CARD-IN is the official analog input card for Soundweb London chassis. It provides four electronically balanced mic/line inputs with switchable 48V phantom power per channel and software gain in 6 dB steps ( 0 to +48 dB ). It installs into any of the four slots available on the BSS modular processors (e.g. BLU-800/805/806, BLU-320/325/326, BLU-160, BLU-120, BLU-80, BLU-32, BLU-16), enabling direct capture of professional-quality mic or line signals.
The card incorporates two removable Phoenix/Combicon connectors (2 channels per connector) and follows the usual S / + / − pinout for balanced and unbalanced connections. Thanks to its low input noise (EIN < −128 dBu) , CMRR > 75 dB and very low A/D latency ( 12/Fs = 0.25 ms @ 48 kHz in revision B), the BLU-CARD-IN guarantees a clean and stable conversion in demanding installation environments.
Main features
- 4 balanced mic/line inputs (removable Phoenix/Combicon), switchable between mic and line.
- Phantom 48 V selectable per channel from software.
- Software analog gain : 0…+48 dB in 6 dB steps .
- Chassis compatibility : BLU-800/805/806, BLU-320/325/326, BLU-160, BLU-120, BLU-80, BLU-32 and BLU-16.
- Key Specifications : Impedance 3.5 kΩ; max. input +20 dBu (0 dB gain) / +8 dBu (+12 dB gain); CMRR > 75 dB @ 1 kHz; EIN < −128 dBu (150 Ω).
- A/D Latency (Rev. B) : 12/Fs (0.25 ms @ 48 kHz; 0.13 ms @ 96 kHz).
- Connectivity : 2 × 4-pole connectors (S/+/− per channel); 4 channels total (2 per connector).
Product benefits
- Preamplification quality with low noise and high common mode rejection for professional microphones.
- Design flexibility : Combine cards as needed and expand inputs without changing chassis.
- Quick installation : removable connectors and standard pinout speed up field wiring.
- Centralized control : phantom and gain adjustable by software within the Audio Architect ecosystem.
Use cases
- Expansion of microphone inputs in BLU matrices for meeting rooms, auditoriums and education.
- Capture line sources (players, receivers, stage boxes) with stable and predictable conversion.
- Scalable projects where I/O needs to be added without modifying the existing topology.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How many channels does it add? Four analog inputs per card (mic/line).
- Can I power condenser microphones? Yes, it has a 48V phantom power switchable per channel.
