The AKG PZM11LLWR is a boundary microphone ( Pressure Zone Microphone ) designed for security, intercom and outdoor surveillance applications . Its electret condenser capsule works in a hemisphere when recessed in a wall or ceiling, and its electronics deliver a balanced line-level output , ideal for connecting directly to line inputs on intercoms, recorders/DVRs or matrix systems without the need for a microphone preamp. It is protected by a plastic membrane located behind the grille that makes it resistant to rain and ambient humidity (not submersible). It installs in a standard electrical box with a minimum depth of 51 mm and is wired using screw terminals for audio and power. Its response is optimized for voice (80 Hz–10 kHz), attenuating traffic noise and enhancing articulation.
