AKG PCC130SW - Cardioid Boundary Microphone with Programmable Switch and LED

The AKG PCC130SW is a boundary layer condenser microphone with Phase Coherent Cardioid (PCC) technology that delivers clear pickup in conference, courtroom, lecture hall, and lecture theater environments. The close-coupled electret capsule phase-sums direct and reflected sound for increased sensitivity, intelligibility, and extended range with reduced feedback. It features a half-cardioid pattern in the upper hemisphere, a 50 Hz–20 kHz response, 22 dB-A self-noise level , 22 mV/Pa sensitivity , and a handling capacity of up to 120 dB SPL . It features a programmable silent membrane switch (touch to on/off, momentary on , or momentary off ) with status LED , and a three-position Bass-Tilt switch (Flat/Cut/Boost) for bass tuning and low-frequency rumble. It operates on 12–48 V phantom power , delivers a balanced 150 Ω output via mini XLR (Switchcraft TB3M) , and is supplied with a detachable 4.6 m cable (TA3F to male XLR). Its low-profile form factor ( 89 × 64 × 25 mm ) and slotted base facilitate both mobile use and permanent table mounting.

Main features

  • Surface cardioid (half-cardioid) polar pattern to prioritize the voice and reduce ambience and feedback.
  • Programmable, silent switch (touch on/off, momentary on or off) with LED ; approximately 70 dB attenuation in the OFF position.
  • 3-position Bass-Tilt switch (Flat/Cut/Boost) to control bass and subsonic noise.
  • PCC electret capsule with 50–20,000 Hz , 22 mV/Pa , 22 dB-A equivalent noise and 120 dB SPL max.
  • Phantom power 12–48 V , balanced output 150 Ω ; mini XLR connector (TB3M) .
  • Included 4.6m cable (TA3F to XLR male) and base with slots for table mounting.
  • Discreet format : 89 × 64 × 25 mm ; satin black finish.

Product benefits

  • Superior intelligibility : PCC technology reduces phase cancellation in the audible range and improves range without increasing noise.
  • Microphone Usage Control : Programmable membrane switch allows tap-to-talk, tap-to-mute, or on/off operation with visual LED confirmation.
  • Less unwanted noise : Bass-Tilt minimizes table rumble, vibrations, and air conditioning.
  • Professional integration : balanced output, standard phantom power, and detachable cable for clean installations.
  • Discreet aesthetics : small footprint that goes unnoticed in boardrooms and lecterns.

Use cases

  • Meeting and boardrooms : individual microphone per attendee or one between two people on a table.
  • Lecterns and lecterns : placement on open surfaces to maintain directivity and response.
  • Courts, municipalities and education : clear word, user control and easy permanent installation.
  • Teleconferencing and distance learning : natural capture with low room coloration.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Does it need external power? Yes, it runs on standard 12–48 V phantom power .
  • How do you configure the switch? An internal selector switch is used to select touch on/off , momentary on , or momentary off (the attenuation in OFF mode is ≈ 70 dB ).
  • What cable is included? A 4.6m TA3F mini XLR ↔ XLR male ; the microphone connector is a Switchcraft TB3M .
  • Can it be bolted to a table? Yes, the base features keyhole slots for permanent attachment.
