It features eight high-end AKG microphones optimized for each piece of kit: 1x D12 VR for the kick drum, 2x C214 (matched pair) for overheads, 1x C451 B for the hi-hat, and 4x D40 for snare and toms. It is delivered in a sturdy metal case and includes all necessary clamps and adapters for quick and secure setup.

The D12 VR is a large-diaphragm cardioid dynamic with selectable active crossovers when phantom powered (P48) for kick drum character shaping; in passive mode, it delivers a flat sound with enormous level tolerance ( up to 164 dB SPL ) and a 17 Hz–17 kHz response. The C214 pair offers AKG’s classic large-diaphragm sound in a cardioid pattern, with a −20 dB pad and 160 Hz crossover , reaching up to 156 dB SPL , ideal for defined overheads. The C451 B , a small-diaphragm condenser, adds attack and air to the hi-hat, with a 75/150 Hz crossover, −10/−20 dB pads and a 20 Hz–20 kHz response. For close-range snare and toms, the D40 cardioid dynamics withstand up to 156 dB SPL with a 50 Hz–20 kHz response and Varimotion diaphragm for punch and clarity.
