AKG AB4000 EW – Wideband UHF Antenna Booster (470–952 MHz) with Adjustable Offset of 3.5–17.5 dB
The AKG AB4000 EW is a high-performance in-line amplifier for compensating for signal losses in long coaxial cable runs between remote antennas and wireless system receivers/distributors. Operating in the 470–952 MHz range , it offers adjustable gain from 3.5 to 17.5 dB via internal cable-length switches, allowing the RF level to be optimized without overloading the chain. It is designed to accommodate up to two boosters in cascade for extended installations and is housed in a weatherproof metal chassis with in-line power LEDs for quick verification.
The AB4000 EW is remotely fed over the antenna cable from compatible units (e.g. PS4000 W / ASU4000 or antenna-fed distributors/receivers), simplifying cable routing. It uses 50 Ω female BNC connectors in and out and is compatible with AKG active and passive antennas such as the RA4000 B/EW , RA4000 EW , SRA2 B/EW and SRA2 EW . In typical applications, it can compensate for cable losses up to ≈35 m with RG58 or ≈75 m with RG213 , maintaining adequate signal margins in stages, theatres and large venues.
