MOTU 8M AVB - Hybrid Audio Interface

HYBRID AUDIO INTERFACE (VARIOUS SYSTEMS) The 8M Thunderbolt-enabled audio interface delivers the industry’s widest dynamic range and powerful mixing capabilities in the style of a true 50-channel, 12-bus stereo mixer. With 50 total channels of audio I/O (24 inputs and 26 outputs), the 8M is also compatible with and can be connected via USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. Featuring a powerful 32-bit floating-point mixing and effects DSP, including analog-modeled EQ, vintage-gear simulated compression, and classic reverb. The MOTU 8M is equipped with eight mic preamps with individual gain, pad, and 48-volt phantom power, plus optionally enabled V-Limit hardware-based limiting adds an extra 9dB of dynamic range above digital zero to prevent input clipping. It has extensive patch routing capabilities that allow the unit to patch inputs to outputs or split inputs to multiple destinations. You can use the 8M as a standalone mixer and control everything from the 8M's innovative web app, which runs on your iPad, iPhone, Android tablet, or smartphone, or even any laptop. All you need is a web browser, and no app download is required. A second MOTU AVB series interface can be connected with a simple Ethernet cable to add more inputs and outputs to the system, using the AVB series switch (sold separately). This allows you to build an entire AVB audio network with multiple switches acting as network nodes and one or more interfaces connected to them in any combination, all with overall latency of a few milliseconds, even over long cables in different rooms. You can route hundreds of input or output channels between all the devices and equipment connected to the network, keeping cabling and installation costs extremely low.
