The OSRAM QTP-OPTIMAL 2x54-58 (QUICKTRONIC® PROFESSIONAL) is a non-dimmable electronic control unit (ECG) for two fluorescent lamps, offering high reliability, maximum efficiency, and multiwatt compatibility. Thanks to Cut-Off technology and optimal filament preheating , it extends lamp life and ensures smooth start-up in applications with occupancy sensors. Designed for frequent switching without adverse effects, it features automatic restart after lamp replacement and operates on AC 220–240 V or DC 176–276 V , making it suitable for emergency lighting (0/50/60 Hz). Its A2 BAT energy efficiency rating , power factor ≈0.99 , and full-load efficiency of up to 95% make it a highly efficient system for offices, industrial facilities, and public buildings.
This electronic ballast supports 2 x 54W T5 HO , 2 x 58W T8 , and 2 x 55W PL-L (DULUX L) bulbs , operating at a high frequency of 40–50 kHz for quiet, flicker-free operation. It offers a start-up time of 1.5 seconds and restarts in <0.3 seconds after micro-interruptions (<0.5 seconds). It is VDE/ENEC certified , complies with EN 61347-2-3 and EN 60929 standards, and incorporates EoL T.2 protection (safe disconnection at the end of life). Its compact design ( 360 x 30 x 21 mm , weight 239.9 g , IP20 ) facilitates integration into Class I luminaires, and it is also suitable for Class I/II luminaires.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it dimmable? No. The QTP-OPTIMAL 2x54-58 is designed for switched (on/off) operation and does not support dimming.
What lamps does it control? Two T5 HO 54W tubes, two T8 58W tubes, or two PL-L 55W tubes (DULUX L). It also supports T5 HO 50W tubes (ES).
Is it suitable for emergency lighting? Yes, it can operate on 176…276 V DC according to normal emergency requirements.

Installation and compatibility

- Always check the luminaire class (I/II) and the conductor section according to local regulations.
