Soundcraft EPM8 - High-performance mixing console

The emphasis with the Soundcraft EPM is firmly on build quality and audio performance, with an easy-to-understand control surface uncluttered by unnecessary functionality. Soundcraft has incorporated new technologies and ideas into this highly cost-effective range. Surface-mount technology is used throughout, with high-precision components for exact and repeatable adjustments to the EQ and gain controls. The highly transparent GB30 microphone amplifier (designed by Graham Blyth for the company's 30th anniversary, and also used in the larger LX7ii and GB series consoles) features high-resolution tuning over a wide 55dB gain range and provides an impressive +22dB headroom through the console. Professional 48-volt phantom power caters for condenser microphones of all types.

A unique signal monitoring feature is the PEAK LED. This uses signal pickup points in multiple locations to monitor overload in various parts of the channel strip, with the LED illuminating more brightly as the signal approaches the peak. For smooth and precise channel control, the EPM features high-quality 60mm faders like those used on other Soundcraft consoles. The monitor output and headphone output work in parallel so performers can still listen with headphones while an engineer is listening on studio monitors.
