It features an 88-note NH (Natural Weighted Hammer Action) keyboard (A0–C8) and two full concert grand pianos— German Piano and Italian Piano —captured in great detail to deliver an expressive timbre with a brilliant upper register and defined low end, ideal for both studio and live performance with auto accompaniment. Additionally, an 18W × 2 speaker system with bass-reflex enclosures provides punch and clarity for solo or performance with accompaniment.

As an ensemble piano , the XE20SP adds a backing band to your left hand with 280 preset Styles (intro, 4 variations, fills , breaks and endings ) and an extensive palette of over 705 sounds and 41 drum kits . Maximum polyphony reaches 184 voices (up to 120 voices with German/Italian Piano; other sounds up to 64 voices). For practicing and creating, it includes a 12-track real-time sequencer (4 keyboard parts + 8 accompaniment parts), SMF and MP3/WAV playback from USB, metronome , set lists and a comprehensive software suite with Skoove , KORG Module and KORG Gadget 2 Le .
