dbx ZonePRO 1261MV - 12x6 Digital Zone Processor with 6 Mic/Line Inputs, ANC, and Ethernet Control

The dbx ZonePRO 1261MV (commercially equivalent to the 1261m variant) is a 12-input, 6-output zone processor designed for multi-room commercial audio. It features 6 hardware-gained mic/line preamps , 4 RCA pairs (mono summed per pair), a 2-channel S/PDIF input , and balanced Euroblock outputs . It’s configured and monitored via Ethernet or RS-232 using ZonePRO Designer software and adds advanced features such as Ambient Noise Compensation (ANC) , AutoWarmth® per zone , multi-source mixing to a single zone , and Link Bus for duplicating channels to another unit as project grows.

With its preconfigured architecture (input processing → center matrix → output processing) and selectable modules (AGC, compression, gate, de-esser, and paging microphone feedback suppression), the 1261MV provides a robust and scalable solution for restaurants, retail, gyms, houses of worship, hotels, and corporate spaces. The dbx Type IV™ 48 kHz converter ensures wide dynamic range and low distortion, and ZC wall-mounted controllers provide secure, local control of volume , source , or presets without exposing the rack.

Main features

  • 12×6 I/O : 6 balanced mic/line inputs (Euroblock), 4 mono-summed RCA pairs, and 1 S/PDIF (up to 2 digital channels); 6 balanced analog outputs (Euroblock).
  • Mic preamps with physical control : gain per channel 30–60 dB , phantom +15 V DC , EIN < −118 dBu (150 Ω).
  • Professional processing : AutoWarmth® per zone; gate, de-esser, AGC, compression, and feedback suppression modules for paging microphones.
  • Preconfigured architecture with 2 inserts per input and 1 insert per output; source mixing to any zone.
  • ANC (Ambient Noise Compensation) integrated into the m platform.
  • Link Bus : Duplicates the first 6 audio channels to another ZonePRO unit for expanded outputs.
  • Control and Network : Ethernet and RS-232 (third-party/AMX/Crestron), optional ZC ; configuration wizard in ZonePRO Designer.
  • Conversion & Performance : dbx Type IV™ A/D, 48 kHz, THD+N typ. 0.003 % , system dynamic range > 110 dB , 20 Hz–20 kHz response ±0.5 dB .
  • 1U rack mount , 100–240 V~ , 27 W consumption.

Benefits for your installation

  • Real flexibility : mix and route multiple sources to any zone without adding external mixers.
  • Consistent Experience : ANC and AutoWarmth® maintain intelligibility and bandwidth at varying volumes and noise levels.
  • Scalability : Expand zones with Link Bus and add local control with ZC-1/2/3/4/6/7/8/9 panels without complex reprogramming.
  • Secure control : Wall-mounted user interface and software; the front of the 1261MV does not expose sensitive controls to non-technical personnel.
  • Open integration : Ethernet/RS-232 control with third-party systems and scenes/schedules from within the software.

Use cases

  • Restaurants and retail : ambient music by zone, priority notifications and ducking, schedules and presets.
  • Sports and leisure centers : mixing sources (DJ, microphone, streaming) to different rooms with local volume control.
  • Corporate and education : distribution of sources (reprog./micro) to lobby, rooms and exteriors with selective pagination.
  • Temples and theaters : AFS-enabled announcement microphone, event-based scenes, and easy volunteer control.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What's the difference between the 1261 and the 1261m (1261MV)? The m/MV version adds six mic/line inputs (up from two), Ethernet , zone source mixing , and ANC . The standard 1261 doesn't mix multiple sources to one output.
  • What network control does it offer? Configuration/monitoring via Ethernet or RS-232 , plus ZC wall controllers and third-party system compatibility.
  • Can I expand outputs later? Yes, with Link Bus you can duplicate the first six channels to another ZonePRO unit and increase zones.
  • What is the phantom power on the mic inputs? +15 V DC (suitable for most installation and paging microphones).
