AKG WMS420 Headworn Band D - UHF Wireless System with Bodypack, Cardioid Headset Microphone, and SR420 Receiver
The AKG WMS420 Headworn Band D is a complete and reliable UHF wireless system for vocals and vocals in stage, fitness, conferencing, and worship. It includes the SR420 receiver, PT420 body-pack transmitter, and AKG C555L headset microphone (cardioid, condenser), all optimized for clear, stable audio in Band D (863.100–864.900 MHz) , a commonly used license-free range in much of Europe. The system employs switched antenna diversity , pilot tone to prevent unwanted noise, and offers up to 8 hours of operation on a single AA battery. Detachable BNC antennas and balanced XLR and 1/4" jack outputs allow for professional integration into racks and PA systems.
Main features
- Band D (EU 863–865 MHz) : Pre-configured fixed frequencies for quick start-up. Typical D channels: CH1 863.100 MHz; CH2 863.500 MHz; CH3 864.900 MHz; alternating group CHA/CHb/CHC/CHd: 863.100 / 863.675 / 864.525 / 864.900 MHz.
- Audio quality : system response 40 Hz–20 kHz (±3 dB), typical THD 0.8 % at 1 kHz and typical signal-to-noise ratio of 105 dB(A).
- AKG C555L Headset Microphone : Condenser, cardioid pattern, 80 Hz–20 kHz range, adjustable gooseneck and 3-pin mini-XLR connector (TA3F).
- PT420 belt-pack transmitter : compact (60 × 75.5 × 30 mm), 214 g, battery life of up to 8 h with 1×AA and integrated charging contacts (for optional CU400 charger).
- SR420 Receiver : half rack unit (½ 19") with detachable BNC antennas , RF/clip indicators, balanced XLR and 6.35 mm jack outputs, adjustable squelch .
- Switched antenna diversity for increased RF stability; pilot tone blocks out noise when the transmitter is off.
- RF Power in Band D : 10 mW. Up to 3 typical simultaneous systems within Band D.
- Compatibility with the AKG MicroMics range (3-pin mini-XLR connector) and optional RMU4X Pro rack kit for 19" mounting.
Product benefits
- Consistent, intelligible sound thanks to the C555L cardioid microphone and the system's 40 Hz–20 kHz audio bandwidth.
- Instant setup with fixed frequencies and antenna switching: less setup time, more usage time.
- True mobility : lightweight flask with up to 8 hours of battery life on a single AA battery.
- Professional integration : XLR/jack outputs, detachable BNC antennas and rack mounting option.
