The AKG PCC170 is an electret condenser boundary layer microphone designed to capture speech with high intelligibility at meeting tables, lecterns, courtrooms, and conference spaces. Its capsule works very close to the surface to maintain phase coherence ( PCC ) and minimize comb filtering and feedback. It offers a supercardioid polar pattern (half-supercardioid in the upper hemisphere) , a wide 50 Hz–20 kHz response, and a sensitivity of 22 mV/Pa , with an equivalent noise floor of 22 dB-A and a maximum SPL of 120 dB . It operates on 12–48 V phantom power and is output on a Switchcraft TB3M connector with a detachable 4.6 m mini XLR (TB3F) to XLR male cable. It features a 3-position Bass-Tilt switch to adjust the bass (compensate for table effect or reduce subsonic noise) and RFI suppression for stable operation with mobile devices. All this in a robust 123 x 86 x 23 mm , 170 g body with a rubberized base for quiet support.
