AKG PAESP M (PAESPM) - Phantom power adapter with programmable switch and 3-pin XLR output for DAM+ systems
The AKG PAESP M is a programmable phantom power module/adapter for the Discreet Acoustics Modular Plus (DAM+) series, designed for fixed and mobile installations where microphone control from the base is required. It features a balanced 3-pin XLR output and an integrated silent switch that does not cut power, but attenuates the level by approximately −26 dB , avoiding noise when the button is pressed. An internal BCD switch allows you to select operating modes (push-to-talk, push-to-mute, latching) and functions such as low-cut filter and LED ring mode (on, off or microphone status tracking) when used with illuminated goosenecks.
Compatible with all AKG DAM+ capsules (e.g. CK41, CK43, CK49 ) via the gold-plated system connector, and with the GN15 M, GN30 M and GN50 M goosenecks. Its RFi-Shielded electronics offer high immunity to interference, operate with 9–52 V DC phantom power , and feature studio-grade audio specifications in a compact and robust form factor.
Main features
- Programmable switch with push-to-talk , push-to-mute and push on/push off (latched) modes.
- Silent switching : The circuit reduces the level by ~ 26 dB instead of interrupting the phantom power, avoiding clicks.
- Balanced 3-pin male XLR output for direct integration into mixers and matrix systems.
- Switchable low-cut filter (typical cutoff around 150 Hz ) to reduce handling/table noise.
- LED ring control : on / off /follow mic, when used with GN M illuminated neckbands.
- Wide power supply : operates with 9–52 V DC phantom power (approx. 4 mA consumption).
- 20Hz–20kHz audio ; recommended load ≥ 2 kΩ .
- DAM+ system connector with gold contacts: fits CK41/CK43/CK49 cartridges and GN15/30/50 M necks.
- Compact construction : length approx. 100.5 mm , diameter 19.1 mm , weight 63 g , black finish.
- RF protection via RFi Shield for high-density device environments.
Product benefits
- Professional and secure operation : avoids noise when activating/deactivating the microphone and allows you to define the button's behavior according to the room or protocol.
- Immediate integration into AV systems thanks to its 3-pin XLR and native compatibility with the AKG DAM+ family.
- Increased intelligibility : Low-cut reduces vibrations and table noise without the need for external processing.
- Less RF interference : RFi shielding for stability in corporate, religious, educational and broadcast environments.
Use cases
- Conferences and meeting rooms : programmable button for clear control of shifts and statuses.
- Lecterns and pulpits : low-cut filter to minimize furniture shocks and resonances.
- Theaters/Broadcast : Silent switching without artifacts during frequent switching.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What cartridges and necks is it compatible with? All AKG DAM+ cartridges (CK41/CK43/CK49) and GN15 M, GN30 M, and GN50 M necks.
- Do I need 5 pins to control the LED? No; the PAESP M (3 pins) allows you to adjust the LED ring mode on the module itself. The PAE5 M (5 pins) is intended for remote LED control from logic automixers.
- How are the modes configured? Using an internal BCD selector, accessible by disconnecting the XLR and removing the module housing.
